| | | Directed by Claude Mulot. (Jouissances, Pussy Talk) This gets my vote for most amusing Brigitte Lahie explicit film. She plays the Madame of a brothel that has been busted by the cops. So she decides to open it up again disguised as an all girls school. Ms. Lahaie then takes in young adult girls (sent by concerned boyfriends and families) to instruct them in the fine points of every sex act - a rampant and audacious fantasy carried off with style. In surreal fashion, every convention of a regular boarding school drama is maintained. At graduation the girls even "perform" on stage for an assembly of smiling "parents" and others who point proudly at their darlings and snap photos of the action. The 'ecolieres' are adult actors playing adult characters, so the whole thing is an elaborate absurdist pastiche of the boarding school genre. Delightfully odd, with a fresh-faced cast. | | | Great Item! A Claude Mulot (as Fredric Lansac) double feature. Mulot was one of the best of the group of French directors who did real movies, softcore erotica, and also hardcore films in the 1970s. First up is cult favorite LE SEXE QUI PARLE (aka Pussy Talk), a well made and very odd 1975 French film about a woman with a talking vagina. Includes odd views from "inside" during conversations. Star Pénélope Lamour uses admirable muscle control to make the talking movements. (If the plot seems overly familiar, this film suffered a lousy softcore US remake titled "Chatterbox") The opening sequence really shows how the best European XXX classics were better than their American counterparts. It's just a girl walking down the street, and then hooking up with another girl in a photo studio - something we've all seen done 100 times in movies - but every nuance here is perfect. It's just plain sexy. The second film is LA FEMME OBJET (The Female Object . aka GIRL FOR PLAY) which is one of two films Mulot made featuring Dominique Troyes (Marilyn Jess) in 1980, the other being the sublime Les Petite Ecolieres (aka Love University). OBJET is the story of an over-sexed Science Fiction author (Richard Lemieure) who dreams he's an inventor who turns his attentions to creating the perfect woman. This project works very well, as it always seems to in porn films, but not without ironic results.
