 Another of the special generation of 1960's sexploitation directors who became prolific XXX directors. Pachard seems to have taken the 1970s off, which is odd, but was one of the most prolific 'prestige' directors of the 1980s. He rose or sank to the occasion... his best films are on par with anyone, but he did (and still does) some real hack work.

Pachard's career provides the best example of the way censorship causes perversion. All of his 1960s movies made under censorship are limited in what sexual details they depict, but are bleak and twisted. After censorship was lifted in the early 1970s his movies became explicit, fun and wholesome overnight.
